Healthcare - St. Luke’s Health System

In today's economy more than ever before the rate of change is accelerating rapidly. So rapidly that only people who practice continuous learning will even have a chance at survival in the work place. Knowledge has always equated to power but today it equates to survival. If you are not learning you are falling behind.

We do have a tuition reimbursement plan currently. However, the plan like most plans requires that the employee first incur the cost and then receive money following successful completion of the course. LiLAs get money into employee's hands upfront thus offering more encouragement to start a class.

We expect that the majority of employees who use LiLA will do so to get a start in a field with a more rewarding future. Patient care techs will use these funds to begin nursing school; housekeepers improving their writing skills to move into administrative jobs; food service workers improving their language skills to get into the mainstream of the restaurant business; security officers improving their knowledge of the legal system to move into police officer roles.

Biotechnology - Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute

LiLA’s are important enablers for life-long learning among front-line employees in the biotechnology industry.  While the industry uses a variety of certifications to validate an individual’s skill sets, tuition reimbursement programs typically focus on academic courses of study.  LiLA’s span this critically important gap.

LiLAs help us compete for and retain staff by showing our commitment to invest in their future. I was attracted to the LiLA program because we could affordably invest in our staff and easily manage the program online. The LiLA program helps us work smarter, more profitably and with happier staff!
